Whether you consider yourself a planner or not, meal planning for your week can make you a happier person. Yep, It’s true. Here is why:

  1. Save Time – When you take 20 -30 minutes once a week to plan out your meals, it allows you to make one big trip to the grocery store. This eliminates multiple trips to get last minute items on any given week day.
  2. Eat Healthier. Having nutritious meals planned out in advance along with a full kitchen of fresh groceries lessens your chance of impulse eating or grabbing takeout.
  3. Save Money – Doing one big haul at the grocery store with a list of needed items will lower your exposure to grabbing random items off the shelf on a whim, which is a huge money waster. Not to mention, cooking at home is significantly cheaper per serving when comparing to a meal from a restaurant.
  4. Reduce Stress – Having a plan in place eliminates one major decision when dinner time rolls around. You already know what is on the menu, no extra thinking involved! If time spent cooking adds stress, take an hour or so before the week begins to prep meals or ingredients in advance.
  5. Avoid Waste – Having a plan & purchasing groceries from a list helps fill your fridge and pantry with only items you plan on using that week. I’m also less likely to steer from my weekly meal plan for takeout when I know I have fresh produce in my fridge that needs to be used!
  6. Try New Recipes- Planning your meals & finding new recipes via your favorite bloggers and chefs each week can help expand your menu as well as make meals something to look forward too!

To make it easier for you, I’ve included my Weekly Meal Planner that I utilize each week for my family’s menu. Tag me in your meal plans on instagram so I can see what you are making!
