I feel like a Basic B, for lack of a better word, when taking a picture of my Acai bowl in our local juice shop as it’s usually filled with other girl’s in Birkenstocks & Iphones doing the exact same thing. Sometimes at 30 years old, I think I’m too old to be “one of those girls” so making these in the comfort of my home allows me to feel a little better about myself when taking pictures… in my Ugg slippers. Okay, maybe I’m still basic.
I have never been a smoothie person, because a cup of fruit in replacement of a meal is no where near what I need to fulfill my appetite. Some people are great at making delicious smoothies full of nutrients but every time I try to make a green smoothie, it has been a complete disaster(if you have some tricks- Please share!) These bowls are full proof for a newbie like me. Plus Acai berries are a natural antioxidant, full of fiber & hearth-healthy fats & make it easy to get some additional nutrients that you won’t get from fruit alone. The thing I love most about acai bowls: THE TOPPINGS. They are so versatile and you can do a lot with a little, whatever tickles your fancy.
