Optional: Preheat oven to 350°. Place bones, onions & garlic on a cooking sheet. Roast for 30-45 minutes.
Place all the ingredients in a large stockpot & cover with water. Bring to a boil. Lower to a simmer and allow to cook for at least 2 hours. For Best results cook for 6 -8 hours. Cook LOW AND SLOW. Do not add any additional water.
When the broth has completely cooked. Strain the broth into glass containers and allow at least 2 inches of space if you plan to freeze the broth.
Notes
For the Instant Pot: Place all ingredients in IP. Cook on manual for 90 minutes. I find this method is not as flavorful as stovetop cooking. Kid Friendly: Cook Pasta, rice or vegetables in broth for added protein. Blend into a puree with vegetables. Or Allow little one to sip from a cup!
