Season Porkchops with sage, garlic powder & salt & pepper.
This step is option but adds a depth of flavor to the dish. Skip ahead if you don't wish to sear your chops. In a medium or large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of ghee. Add porkchops to the pan & sear for about 2 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and place on a large baking sheet.
In the skillet, add the additional tablespoon of ghee. Add the green beans & minced garlic. Toss to coat with ghee. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes before transferring to the baking sheet.
Season green beans with salt & pepper. Make sure these are laid out in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the oven & bake for 15-18 minutes. Cooking times may vary based on thickness of the pork chops. Use a meat thermometer to test doneness.
Maple Glazed Apples - Eliminate for Whole30
While the pork chops cook in the oven, prep your apples.
In the skillet, Melt 1 & 1/2 Tbsp ghee over medium heat. Place apples, coconut sugar & cinnamon in the melted ghee and toss to coat evenly. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until apples are tender.
Add Maple syrup and allow to caramelize, about 2 additional minutes. Remove from heat & serve on top of the pork chops when ready to serve.
Notes
Kid Friendly- All components of this dish are kid friendly. Serve based on your child's chewing abilities. For young babies, I recommend cutting thick slices of pork that will allow them to suck on the meat without breaking off any small pieces.
